Posting As: Raeburn

He had been by himself all morning, and the quiet upsetted him. He was used to the tests every morning, the poking and prodding and the Testers. He wasnt used to being alone, though, and being alone was a whole new experince. He liked it, to some point. The tests could be horrid.

Peace and quiet. Well, not exactly. Raeburn did have quiet, but peace was far away. Actually, that's not one hundred percent true, either. Raeburn shuddered as he remembered the death he witnessed just the morning before.

It had been another kid like him. The death had offered no escape, either. The kid and a 'special boy', one of the new Garland's, had been put in a large room with a large glass panel. Raeburn had been walking past with a Tester and had seen the kid banging on the glass, with blood coming from everywhere.

The two Testers that had been watching hadnt offered any help. The kid could see them, and the Testers could see the kid. Raeburn had witnessed the death when the Garland had cut his hands and feet off and let the kid bleed to death.

Raeburn's stomach felt like it was in a twist. Sweat trickled down his face as he tried to shut the images from his mind. Food clattered in through the door, and by the light shinning in the room Raeburn assumed it was lunch. He didn't eat, though. He couldn't eat.

The door opened not long after. It opened slowly, and he heard some whispers on the outside. Raeburn tensed. What was it? A Tester, in their long white coats and official looking faces? Raeburn waited, cringing and shivering.
